ABOUT THE COFFEE

Nguguini is the embodiment of classic washed Kenyan coffee – bright, juicy, and full of fresh, fruity notes, with a subtly sweet character in the background. The cup presents an intense and clean acidity, characteristic of the best Kenyan coffees processed fully washed. Lime and gooseberry give it a lively, fresh personality, while notes of caramel, lemonade, and sugar bring sweetness and help balance the lemon acidity. The beans were processed in the classic Kenyan fully washed way at the Ngugu-ini washing station, which collaborates with over 1,200 coffee farms. This batch features the botanical varieties typical for the Kenyan profile: SL28, SL34, and Ruiru 11. These coffees are grown at an altitude of 1,600–1,650 m above sea level, further contributing to its distinctive, fruity, and acidic character.

REVIEW OPINION

Nguguini is another classic example of this year with a subtle, somewhat unexpected twist. Even in the aroma, it leaves no doubt about its Kenyan character – intense lemon and gooseberry notes create a bright, acidic profile. In the background, delicate hints of sugar and lemon zest appear, reminiscent of slightly sweetened lemonade.
