Choosing a children's bicycle size by age and height

With a kids' bike, wheel diameter matters more than the age printed on the box. The common sizes are 12, 14, 16, 20 and 24 inches. As a rough guide, 12–14" suits children aged 2–4, 16" fits 4–6, and 20–24" works for school-age riders.
