ABOUT THE COFFEE
"Brand Coffee Farm" is a project aimed at changing the perception of robusta – from a mass market commodity to coffee with a clearly defined origin and quality. The farm combines modern growing methods with a regenerative approach: composting is used, processing methods are controlled, and drying is done in tunnels, allowing for better control over the final coffee profile. Additionally, the farm serves as a knowledge center for local farmers.
By the way, we made a mistake here that we usually warn about. Robusta is just one of the varieties of the Canephora species. In this bag, you will find another Canephora variety – Kaweri – beans. We find them simply amazing.
ABOUT THE SPECIES
We are glad that you are exploring coffea canephora with us, often referred to as robusta. For many years, this species has been associated only with cheap blends, but well-grown canephora can be intense, sweet, creamy, and surprisingly complex.
That is why it has made its way into our selection – to show that the world of coffee is broader than just arabica.
However, it is worth preparing it a little differently. Canephora is more intense and extracts better, so we recommend a lower temperature: 86–89 °C (best to start at 88 °C). It is also suitable to use water with lower mineral content – about 70 ppm. You can simply mix water with distilled water at a 1:1 ratio or use low-mineral water, such as "Żywiec Zdrój".
Don’t be surprised if the taste differs from the coffee you are used to. That is precisely the point.
ROASTER'S NOTE
The mildest coffee in our offer. Sweet and velvety, completely without acidity and with very low bitterness. Perfect as black coffee, and also pairs well with milk.
Store in a cool, dry place.
