All about the product

Coffee beans from Instytut Kawy Kosta Rika Tarrazu. Beans grown at an altitude of 1200–1800 meters above sea level have been processed using the washed method, ensuring the clarity of the drink. The coffee is roasted to a darker (medium-dark) degree, making it an ideal base for preparing specialty drinks in espresso machines (both automatic and with a portafilter) and coffee makers. This thermal processing profile allows for the extraction of caramel-chocolate flavor depth from the beans while maintaining pleasant fruity notes. Tradition and features of the region. The Tarrazu region, located in an unspoiled mountainous area about 70 km from the capital San José, is renowned for its ideal conditions for coffee trees to grow – fertile volcanic soils and the influence of Pacific waters. The history of coffee in Costa Rica dates back to 1779, and its cultivation has become a cornerstone of the local economy, financing, among other things, the construction of the first railway line "Ferrocarril al Atlantico" and the National Theater. For the region's inhabitants, coffee is a primary source of livelihood, thus particular attention and care is given to its cultivation and processing. Origin and growing conditions. The beans originate from the Santa Rosa region, where plantations are located in fertile volcanic soils, away from urban agglomerations, at altitudes of 1400–1800 meters above sea level. Guatemala's specifics – 300 unique microclimates, proximity to two oceans, and mountainous terrain – are favorable for coffee tree cultivation. Local production is actively supported by the National Coffee Association (Anacafé), which provides farmers with access to modern knowledge and laboratories, resulting in high harvest quality.
