ABOUT THE COFFEE
Tanzania Songwe opens a new chapter in our offerings. We wanted our first coffee from this country to be anything but random - we aimed to select beans that clearly reveal Tanzania's character. This is a coffee with a fresh, distinctive profile. Rhubarb provides a lively acidity, gooseberries add a hint of green fruitiness, while herbal notes impart an elegant, tea-like character. Its strength lies not in intense sweetness but in the precision and clarity of flavor. We love this coffee because it starts our adventure with Tanzania in the best possible way - revealing the character of this country in a cup, as well as the people who are gradually shaping the future of the local coffee sector.
ABOUT THE FARM
Behind the quality of this coffee is Itumpi AMCOS - a producer cooperative operating since the 1970s, which today unites 160 active members. One of its key development steps was the introduction of fully washed coffee production in 2019, allowing for better control over processing and revealing the character of local varieties. The AMCOS model plays an important role in the Tanzanian coffee sector - through collective action, smallholder farmers gain access to infrastructure, knowledge, and markets, helping them to improve the quality and value of their coffee.
