ABOUT THE REGION

“Cafetos de Segovia” is a project that brings together small coffee growers from the Nueva Segovia region in northern Nicaragua. This region, located near the border with Honduras, is responsible for many of Nicaragua's most esteemed specialty coffees. Due to the high altitude of the farms, cool climate, and prolonged cherry ripening period, the coffee exhibits great sweetness, clarity of flavor, and elegance in the cup.

The beans in this lot come from the El Naranjal, Las Naranjas, and Los Ángeles farms. The farmers manage their land under the shade of trees and fruit trees, caring for biodiversity and soil fertility. The ripe cherries are hand-picked and then processed using the classic washing method. After fermentation and washing, the coffee is dried for about twelve days in carefully controlled humidity and sunlight.

The project is carried out by “Cafetos de Segovia” – an organization that has been helping local producers directly access the specialty market for many years. It places great emphasis on transparency in the supply chain, long-term collaboration with farmers, and fair compensation for high quality. As a result, small family farms can focus on producing better and better coffee, preserving the character of the Nueva Segovia region, which is renowned for Nicaragua’s specialty.

ROASTER'S NOTE

Oh, what gigantic beans! Our little buddy Ode doesn't grind them right away, but once you coax him, miracles happen in the cup. Very elegant, classic, yet so tasty!

Store in a cool, dry place.
