The Fellow sifting device is different from the usual mesh sifters. How to achieve the best results?

The Fellow sifter works a bit differently than traditional mesh sifters, so here’s how to achieve the best results.

• Firmly place the sieve over the matcha bowl.
• Using the included scoop, measure about 2 g (1–2 full scoops) of matcha powder and pour it into the center of the sieve.
• With one hand, firmly hold the sieve. With the other hand, gently sweep the back of the spoon across the surface of the sieve back and forth.
• Imagine this as surface polishing, not pressing. Use light pressure and smooth, continuous motions that cover the entire area of the holes.
• As you move the matcha across the surface, you will see fine, even dust fall into the bowl below.
• If you notice powder gathering at the edge, push it back toward the center and continue sifting until everything passes through.
• Sifting 1–2 scoops of matcha powder should take about 30 seconds – enough time for the mixture to be smooth and lump-free. A gentle, even sweeping motion is more effective than pressing straight down. Using the full width of the perforated area, the powder will evenly distribute through the holes.

How to prepare a cup of matcha tea?

Classic matcha:

Water: 65 g at 180°F

Powder amount: 2 g

Whisk for 20–30 seconds

Latte:

Water: 50 g at 180°F

Powder amount: 5 g

Add 150 ml of cold milk or 230 ml of hot milk.

• Tea tray – ceramic with silicone feet, ensuring it stays firmly on your table.

• Bowl capacity: 380 ml. Designed for conveniently preparing 140 ml of matcha (about 2 servings).
• Tea tray dimensions: 13 cm x 26 cm x 1.5 cm. Total height of the set: 8.5 cm.
• Materials: ceramic, bamboo, 18/8 stainless steel, silicone, glass bowl (only in matte white).
• Cleaning: Dishwasher-safe (except for the whisk and tea tray). Hand wash the tea tray and whisk. Stand the whisk on the whisk stand to dry.
