"The Breach" is a competitive 'Net Crawler' game for 1-4 players, lasting approximately 25 minutes per player, where the goal is to hack into the Gene.sys database and steal secret information. Each player is a "Breacher," a digital rebel guided by their ideals or the interests of a faction. The game map is Gene.sys, a mysterious virtual universe currently controlled by the Achab Corporation. Once inside the database, Breacher avatars will face several dangers: not only from other Breachers but also from I.C.E. (Achab Remote Mind) controlled by A.R.M., which will try to stop the intruders. If necessary, A.R.M. will also summon powerful Guardians who will attempt to thwart the intrusion attempts. The Breach is a network crawler with a unique resource management system, item collection mechanics, and variable powers. Your goal is to spread viruses within the database while collecting as much information as possible. The game turn consists of three stages: (I.C.E. launches its subprograms against the players), actions (Avatars choose and perform their actions), and the network (Avatars configure their skills and steal information using viruses). You will not only be able to improve your Avatar, assign viruses, fight against guards and other Avatars, explore the Gene.sys rooms, but also install programs and use cheat codes to manipulate the database according to your needs. Also, pay attention to your Avatar's health: if it takes enough damage, it will be disconnected from the network and reconnect at a different location! However, you can play more strategically and take advantage of this event as well... Every game of The Breach will differ from the previous ones: the choice of Avatar, Breacher, and Database structure offers a new challenge each time, and players must be clever to determine the best strategy to optimize the available resources.
