All about the product
Nippon: Zaibatsu is a new version of the Nippon game, a fast-paced economic board game with territory control elements. Players manage zaibatsu, huge interconnected corporate conglomerates that drove Japan's economy forward during the Industrialization period. Throughout the game, you will invest in new industries, build factories and railroads, and produce goods to fill local markets and fulfill contracts. All of this is done to increase influence and power and become the leader of a newly modernized country. Players can freely choose their play style and strategy: deciding what to collect victory points for, controlling the game's pace through income phases, and competing for the best factories, markets, and bonuses. All the main mechanics of the original Nippon remain, but the components, illustrations, and design have been enhanced, with many game elements redesigned to meet modern board game standards. Nippon: Zaibatsu introduces new resource types, a revamped shipping system with new Iwakura mission rules, much more diverse factories, new awards in the consolidation phase, and more. The game also features a solo mode based on automation.
