The dietary supplement Adeno B-12 is a capsule-form preparation containing vitamin B12 in the form of adenosylcobalamin.
Vitamin B12 is a water-soluble substance, chemically known as cobalamin, because it contains the metal cobalt in its structure. Cobalamin is primarily found in animal-based products: meat, eggs, fish – the highest concentrations of this vitamin are in the liver and kidneys. Vitamin B12 is essential for the proper functioning of our body, particularly the nervous system.
Adenosylcobalamin (5′-deoxyadenosylcobalamin) is a natural, active, mitochondrial form of vitamin B12, directly involved in energy production at the cellular level. It acts as a coenzyme in converting methylmalonyl-CoA to succinyl-CoA, supporting the metabolism of amino acids and fatty acids. It helps maintain proper mitochondrial activity and the functioning of the nervous and muscular systems.
