Gaia is the first collection of sustainable vibrators made from Blush's proprietary BioFeel TM, a non-oil plant-based bioplastic, a polymer compound mixed with plant material, and BioTouch TM, a natural rubber material known for its high tensile strength and tear resistance, ensuring long-lasting durability. Non-oil-based materials, such as natural rubber and bioplastics, are a much better choice for the environment than synthetic rubber or plastic. Additionally, these materials are carefully sourced from sustainable and responsible farmers.
What is BioFeel TM?
BioFeelTM is a unique Blush plant-based bioplastic, a polymer compound material mixed with plant materials. This material is an excellent choice for vibrators since it is non-porous, making its surface safe and easy to clean. It looks and feels like any hard plastic toy. Blush's BioFeel TM is smooth to the touch and made from at least 35% sustainable non-oil-based plant material (i.e., wheat). Other manufacturers use 100% oil-based plastic. By utilizing natural plant material, Blush emits fewer greenhouse gases, making our products more sustainable and environmentally friendly.
What is BioTouch TM?
BioTouch TM is a patented version of natural rubber material by Blush. It meets strict mechanical and chemical requirements and is firm yet soft enough for pleasure products. It has high tensile strength and tear resistance, so your toy will go the distance with you. BioTouch TM is non-porous, making it safe and easy to clean. BioTouch TM is coated with our patented silicone-based Ultrasilk® for a silky feel.
What does oil-free mean?
Oil-free products are not petroleum-based. The plant PLA portion is oil-free, and our natural rubber composition is oil-free.
What can I do with my toy when I'm done?
Your Gaia vibrator can be disassembled, and certain parts can be taken to different commercial composite facilities. Batteries, motors, and housings must be separated.
How is the charging cable eco-friendly?
The Gaia charging cable is wrapped in cotton instead of plastic, and instead of a traditional plastic head, it has a BioFeel TM head.
How is the new packaging more eco-friendly?
The new Gaia packaging is made from handmade paper without spot UV or foil made from oil and treated in a way that makes it harder to recycle. The ink we use on the new Gaia packaging is a soybean-based natural ink!
How long does it take for Gaia to compost?
Under composting conditions, the shell composts in about 2–3 years.
Will Gaia decompose in the body?
Gaia will not decompose in the body. Gaia products are rigorously tested by third parties and proven to be body-safe.
