All about the product
Matcha tea was brought to Japan from China in the 12th century by Zen Buddhist monks. The grinding of tea leaves (Camellia sinensis) into fine powder facilitated its transport and consumption. Initially, its flavor was bitter, and it was primarily used as a remedy for various ailments. It was only after 400 years (in the 16th century) that the Japanese improved its taste by hiding the tea bushes from the sun for several weeks before harvesting the leaves, which made matcha tea much less bitter. The Japanese tea ceremony with matcha became an integral part of Zen Buddhist monasteries, and over time it was adopted by the samurai class. The 'new' method of producing matcha tea, which is still practiced today, was developed in 1738 by Sohens Nagatani. Thanks to his work, the tea gained popularity among other social groups. With the social changes in Japanese society, matcha became one of the key elements of Japan's culture and identity.
Note! Matcha is a stimulating beverage. People with heart diseases and high blood pressure should be cautious.
Ingredients: green tea "Matcha" (Grade I, Japan).
