All about the product
The wooden educational STEM constructor Catapult (throwing machine) is great for introducing children to the basics of physics, engineering, and mechanics in a simple way.
Features:
This is a constructor, a toy, and an educational tool all in one. It is a fun and educational option for kids who love to build, experiment, and discover how the laws of physics work. During assembly, the child develops fine motor skills and precision, while the testing phase reinforces scientific concepts. It is perfect for curious minds – it combines creativity with science, encouraging problem-solving and imaginative play. Watch as the little inventor experiments with angles and force while having fun.
Made from high-quality, non-toxic wood. The wooden pieces are smooth and durable, and they can be painted or varnished in your child's favorite colors. The stable construction is suitable for educational activities.
Easy assembly: simple and clear instructions allow children to build the toy with minimal adult supervision, making the set suitable for both independent work and activities with parents.
STEM (Science + Technology + Engineering + Mathematics) represents educational methods that integrate science, technology, engineering, and mathematics into a cohesive learning model, preparing the younger generation for the rapidly evolving world of technology.
This is an excellent gift option, as well as for schools and educational institutions that need simple, reliable, and clearly functioning educational models.
Operating principle:
Uses elastic energy (rubber bands), which is converted into kinetic energy to launch projectiles.
Educational value: potential and kinetic energy, lever principle, Newton's laws.
Potential energy: when the child pulls the catapult lever back, they stretch the rubber band. At that moment, energy is stored in the stretched rubber.
Kinetic energy: when the lever is released, the stored potential energy suddenly converts into kinetic (motion) energy, which is transferred to the projectile, and it flies away.
Lever principle: the catapult lever acts as a first-class lever. The child learns to understand how the pivot point and lever arm length determine how far and how forcefully the projectile will be launched. The longer the lever, the greater speed its end can achieve.
Newton's second law (the force acting on a body equals the mass of the body times its acceleration): the child can observe that a heavier projectile flies a shorter distance, while a lighter one flies farther.
Newton's third law: action and reaction. When the lever is released, the catapult's body may move slightly in the opposite direction – this is a reaction to the force used to launch the projectile.
Purpose: for home learning, classroom use, project work.
