All about the product
We named it "Amber Heart" due to the dark golden color of the brew and the unusual shape of the leaves: small nuggets shaped like hearts. This type of tea is known as Lao Cha Tou in China.
For shu pu-erh production, the leaves are stacked into piles and sprayed with water to increase moisture, which speeds up fermentation. Lao Cha Tou is obtained from the very bottom of these piles, where fermentation occurs under the highest humidity. This is where the most intense flavors and sugars of the entire batch accumulate, making these nuggets noticeably sweeter than regular shu pu-erh.
