Katadyn BeFree Filter AC 1.0L Black – lightweight 2-stage water filter
Katadyn BeFree Filter AC 1.0L Black – a compact water filtration system ideal for hiking, traveling, camping, running, and other outdoor activities. This model combines a fast 0.1 micrometer EZ-Clean Membrane™ hollow fiber filter with replaceable activated carbon.
The two-stage system not only filters water from microorganisms and microplastics but also improves taste and reduces unpleasant odors, turbidity, and chlorine.
Stage 1 – 0.1 micron EZ-Clean Membrane™
The first stage of filtration uses a 0.1 micron (0.0001 mm) hollow fiber membrane. It effectively filters out bacteria, protozoa, and microplastics.
The membrane's lifespan reaches up to 1000 liters, depending on water quality.
Stage 2 – replaceable activated carbon
The second stage uses replaceable activated carbon. It improves the taste of filtered water and reduces unpleasant odors, turbidity, and chlorine.
The activated carbon lifespan reaches up to 200 liters, depending on water quality. The activated carbon element can be easily replaced.
Up to 2 liters per minute
The BeFree AC boasts a high filtration speed – up to 2 l/min. This allows for quick hydration directly from the SoftFlask™ bottle or filling another water container.
Lightweight – only 85 g
The entire system weighs just 85 g, making it perfect for situations where a low gear weight and compactness are crucial. The flexible bottle compresses and takes up very little space in your backpack when empty.
Durable 1.0L Hydrapak® SoftFlask™
The included 1.0 l Hydrapak® SoftFlask™ is made of TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane), free from PVC and BPA. The double-layer construction is designed for use in challenging outdoor conditions.
The sturdy handle allows for easy carrying of the bottle or attachment to a backpack.
EZ-Clean Membrane™ – easy cleaning
One of the key advantages of the BeFree system is the simple maintenance of the EZ-Clean Membrane™. The membrane can be cleaned simply by shaking or rinsing it in water. No backwashing or special tools are required.
The EZ-Clean Membrane™ uses a 42 mm thread.
Convenient cap and silicone mouthpiece
The sturdy flip-cap closes the filter tightly, and the silicone mouthpiece can be easily removed for cleaning or replacement.
