TruMag® is a unique, highly absorbable, patented ATA Mg® compound containing magnesium and taurine, which is a source of acetyltaurine (93%). It includes one magnesium atom, bound to two taurine molecules, whose amino functional group has been acetylated. Magnesium is an essential cofactor for over 300 enzymes involved in biosynthesis and energy metabolism.

Magnesium deficiency within the cell leads to calcium overload, resulting in cell death. Taurine, on the other hand, is one of the most widespread amino acids in the central nervous system. It plays a key role in brain function and acts as a neuro-osmolyte, neuromodulator, and relaxing neurotransmitter. Additionally, intracellular taurine reduces the production of free radicals during calcium cell penetration.

ATAMg® provides magnesium in a unique bioavailable form: ATAMg® is patented as a magnesium salt of acetyltaurinate, which ensures increased magnesium cell penetration and physiological properties associated with optimized intracellular magnesium concentration.
ATAMg® delivers magnesium (Mg) in the form of N-acetyltaurine. This N-acetylation removes the zwitterionic (anionic) structure of taurine, giving ATAMg® a lipophilic character that facilitates the passage and penetration of both Mg and taurine into cells, particularly into neuronal cells.
