SILCA Hold Fast Carbon Paste ensures exceptional grip and cleaner installation due to its high-viscosity silicone formula – this clearly sets it apart from traditional carbon component mounting pastes, which often use painted greases and low-density textural additives.
Initially developed at the request of professional mechanics from VISMA | Lease a Bike , "Hold Fast" was designed to address real everyday issues: oil-soiled clothes, slippery grease bases, and poor grip at low tightening torque. The paste increases surface friction, allowing the use of a lower tightening torque while simultaneously reducing the risk of fatigue, slipping, or damaging carbon fiber and aluminum components. Unlike most carbon pastes that use a grease base, "Hold Fast" employs a clean, high-viscosity silicone medium that stays in place, cleans easily, and is safe for carbon fiber, titanium, aluminum, and painted surfaces.
