All about the product
TPU cameras have long been our favorite choice as spare cameras under the saddle because they take up extremely little space. This allows carrying two cameras where previously only one fit. For a long time, the problem was that plastic valves tended to separate from the camera itself, the valve cores were often pressed into the plastic, causing air leaks, and the junction point where the camera was attached often could not withstand.
A spare camera is not very useful if it simply breaks when you try to use it. SILCA decided to change that. Our TPU cameras use patented technology that mechanically secures the valve to the camera and also features a welded joint that effectively prevents failures. Additionally, we used a threaded aluminum valve that helps the camera resist the heat generated by electric pumps, and added a valve nut that ensures maximum stability, security, and no rattling.
Over the past few years, TPU materials have made significant progress and have nearly reached the rolling resistance efficiency of latex cameras or tubeless systems, while weighing only a fraction of the latex weight. Our cameras weigh between 45 and 62 g – allowing for extremely low weight, reduced rolling resistance, and exceptional compactness for transport.
