All about the product
To achieve sharp images, we must ensure the appropriate back-focus distance of the camera sensor relative to the telescope. The M42 ring set from Celestron includes three spacer rings of different lengths to achieve the proper back-focus distance with popular optical tubes from Celestron and T-thread camera adapters.
For example, the set: RASA 8” with the ZWO ASI 183 MC PRO camera. The required back-focus for RASA 8” is 25mm. In turn, the back-focus for the ZWO ASI 183 MC PRO camera is 17.5mm. To achieve a back-focus of 25 mm, you need to use the 7.5mm M42 ring.
M42 spacer rings are made of black anodized aluminum. The inner surfaces are black and light-diffusing to ensure the highest contrast. M42 rings are compatible with M42 x 0.75 camera adapters (T-thread).
