All about the product
Training and competitions are the daily routine of a professional cyclist.
Due to excellent mechanical quality and impeccable balance between weight and stiffness, the “QED” series chainrings meet the most demanding training and competition requirements, allowing for a constant feeling of mechanical precision and power.
7075 ultra-light aviation aluminum
The 7075 aviation-grade aluminum alloy features outstanding physical properties – wear resistance, deformation resistance, high stiffness, and extremely low weight. The chainring made from this alloy weighs only 143 g, maintaining excellent operational properties.
Considering the load contour from FEA technical analysis, the structure is reinforced in areas where the greatest forces concentrate, thereby reducing deformation under heavy loads. This allows for an ideal balance between weight, stiffness, and durability – exactly what professional cyclists demand during training and racing.
*The “QED” light double-split chainring has withstood over 100,000 fatigue tests and over 40,000 km of endurance tests.
Data obtained from “Magene Lab”.
CNC machining technology
CNC (Computer Numerical Control) is a precise manufacturing process technology that ensures uniform and precise standards. The application of CNC technology allows all components to function harmoniously and smoothly. Advanced CNC cutting and positioning techniques feature exceptional precision and efficiency.
Self-designed tooth shape
After numerous design iterations and studies evaluating the performance and wear characteristics of different chainring tooth shapes, the “QED” light split chainring received a self-designed tooth design of the new generation, third version.
Improved parameters of the root, groove, and tooth shape ensure better mechanical transmission under high loads. The chain firmly “bites” into the chainring and smoothly shifts from a smaller to a larger chainring.
The chain can shift to a larger chainring in just 1/5 of a turn – this guarantees quick and precise shifting under various conditions and speeds.
Increased distance between the teeth further reinforced the structure, thus extending its lifespan. The lifespan of the chain and chainring has increased by about 3% compared to the previous version.
110BCD 4-bolt chainring attachment
The “QED” light split chainring uses the widely adopted 110BCD 4-bolt standard, which reduces weight and provides wide compatibility.
In addition to the chainring, “Magene” also offers a power meter solution with an integrated spider. Optionally, it can be used with the exclusive “QED P505” flagship power meter or the “PES P505” base model.
The “QED” split chainring is compatible with Shimano 11 and 12-speed groups.
Not compatible with Shimano cranksets and similarly styled models.
