The cable is suitable for extending a USB3.0 cable by an additional 20m. The standard USB cable is limited to a maximum length of 5m. With the USB 3.0 optical cable, it is possible to extend the cable by 20m for a total length of up to 25m.
The cable achieves the actual transmission speed of USB 3.0 but is not backward compatible with USB2.0
