EasyPrint FLEX TPU is the latest flexible PrimaCreator plastic. This 3D printer plastic was developed with a focus on durability, flexibility, and ease of use. The thermoplastic is made from TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane), one of the most commonly used polymers for flexible 3D printing materials. Take advantage of the benefits of TPU and its easy processing. The material minimally deforms, shrinks little, is very durable, and resistant to most chemicals and oils.
EasyPrint FLEX TPU shore hardness is 95A. This roughly corresponds to the hardness of a rubber boot or tire. Additionally, the flexible plastic is very easy to process with many 3D printers due to its relatively high shore hardness. You can also use it with your Bowden setup 3D printers, such as Ultimaker or BCN3D Sigma. The thermoplastic does not require a direct drive 3D printer (DirectDrive extruder).
The semi-flexible formula of this plastic is amazing. Control your 3D prints and their flexibility simply by filling the parts. Want a flexible, easily foldable structure that compresses easily and always returns to its original shape? Then EasyPrint FLEX TPU is your plastic. Just print 3D with less infill. If you use more infill, you will get a 3D print that is more similar to hard rubber (think of tires). With PrimaCreator EasyPrint FLEX TPU, you can use a very wide range of applications. For example, 3D printed handles for bicycles, shock absorbers, rubber seals, and insoles for shoes. PrimaCreator TPU has an enormous 400% elongation.
Due to the very low material shrinkage, EasyPrint FLEX TPU is very easy to process with all FDM/FFF printers. EasyPrint FLEX is very unlikely to deform. 3D printing also works well without a heated bed. However, for larger 3D prints and the best results, we recommend a heated plate. Setting the temperature to 40-60 °C and coating with PrimaFIX ensures very good adhesion of the first layer.
Note that TPU is hygroscopic, meaning it tends to absorb water. Therefore, keep it sealed and protected from moisture in a closed container or bag with a desiccant. If your TPU plastic ever gets wet, you can always dry it for about 1 hour at 70 °C in the oven. After that, the plastic dries out and can be processed like new.
