The device now also offers a function that informs about alarm activations over the past 14 days, allowing the user to ensure that the detector has not recorded any unwanted carbon monoxide concentrations even in its absence.

The status of the sensor, batteries, and internal circuits is automatically monitored by a microprocessor-controlled safety system. In case of failure, any operational disruption, or low battery capacity, it will signal optically with a yellow LED indicator along with relevant information on the LCD screen, accompanied by a corresponding alarm sound signal.

The Kidde K10LLDCO detector also features a simulation testing function designed to quickly check whether the CO sensor responds correctly to test gases.

Due to its special design, it is not necessary to firmly mount the device on the wall in the room, but the detector can also be freely placed on flat surfaces, such as a nightstand, shelf, etc.

Carbon monoxide is a colorless, odorless, and tasteless gas produced by the improper combustion of fossil fuels such as coal, oil, natural gas, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), charcoal, and firewood. It can also be emitted by poorly maintained or malfunctioning fuel-burning appliances used for heating homes, such as boilers, gas appliances, fireplaces, grills, blocked chimneys, ventilation systems, or damaged flues.

The most common symptoms of CO poisoning are headaches, nausea, fatigue, and muscle pain, but they can easily be mistaken for flu. That is why it is important to protect your family and home with carbon monoxide detectors.

The best way to check and maintain the CO detector's sensor performance is to use the SAFE 400 calibration gas testing kit. This testing gas verifies that the detector's circuits and systems operate reliably and that the CO sensor actively responds to the appropriate carbon monoxide concentration level.

The carbon monoxide detection device comes with a certificate confirming compliance with the Czech technical standard ČSN-EN EN50291-1:2018 requirements for household carbon monoxide detectors.
