The Kidde K7DCO carbon monoxide (CO) detector continuously monitors the presence of toxic carbon monoxide in homes or workplaces, providing protection against its deadly effects. In addition to three control LED indicators, it also features an LCD display that continuously shows measured CO values and other status information. The detector can be permanently installed on the wall or simply placed freely on a table, shelf, or other horizontal surface for better convenience. It is an ideal safety device and reliable protection against this silent killer not only for households but also in rented accommodations, on vacations, when traveling in motorhomes, caravans, trailers, or boats. It complies with the latest ČSN -EN50291:2018 standards for domestic carbon monoxide detectors.
The Kidde K7DCO carbon monoxide gas leak detector is equipped with an industrial sensor with a warranty and a lifespan of 10 years . Its operating time is therefore 40% longer than that of most conventional CO alarms commonly offered on our market.

The K7DCO carbon monoxide detector with display is equipped with a second-generation electrochemical sensor, guaranteeing the lifespan and operability of the device for up to 10 years. Battery power using two AA alkaline batteries (included) allows for optimal placement of the detector in the interior space, thus providing constant protection against this silent killer.
The CO detector with a conformal NANOWAX coating protects the device's electronics even in very humid environments. The device can therefore be placed or installed, for example, in bathrooms with water heaters, gas boilers, boiler rooms, and similar locations.
The built-in LCD display shows the concentration level of carbon monoxide from 0 to 999 ppm*. The device measures the deadly danger of carbon monoxide (CO) at one-second intervals. Exceeding the permissible CO level is indicated optically (by a red LED indicator) and acoustically (by a loud, pulsing sound alarm of 85dB).

Newly, the device also offers a function that informs about alarm activation in the last 14 days, allowing the user to ensure that no undesirable carbon monoxide concentration was detected by the detector during their absence.
The status of the sensor, batteries, and internal circuits is automatically monitored by a safety system controlled by a microprocessor. In case of detecting a fault, any operational anomaly, or low battery capacity, this status will be indicated optically using a yellow LED indicator with corresponding information displayed on the LCD screen accompanied by the appropriate alarm acoustic signal.
The Kidde K7DCO detector is additionally equipped with a simulation test function for quick checking of the CO sensor's proper response to test gas.
Due to its special design, it is not necessary to permanently install the device on the wall in the room, but it is also possible to place the detector freely on flat surfaces, such as a nightstand, shelf, etc. The impact-resistant housing design and battery power have allowed the detector to be approved for use not only in homes and apartments but also in recreational vehicles, caravans, and boats.
Carbon monoxide is a colorless, tasteless, and odorless gas that is produced during the incomplete combustion of fossil fuels such as coal, oil, natural gas, LPG, coal, and wood. It can also be produced by poorly maintained or faulty fuel-burning appliances intended for heating in homes, such as: boilers, gas appliances, water heaters, grills, clogged chimneys, ventilation systems, or damaged flue pipes.

Testing the Kidde K7DCO detector
The best way to test and maintain the CO detector sensor in operational condition is through a test kit with SAFE 400 calibration gas. This test gas verifies whether the circuits and systems of the detector are working reliably and whether the CO sensor actively responds to the corresponding level of carbon monoxide concentration.
