The achromatic refractor Bresser Messier AR-127S 127/635 (EXOS 1) can be recommended for both beginners in astronomy and experienced observers. The telescope is a worthy representative of the Bresser Messier series and features high image and assembly quality along with a stylish exterior design.
The telescope uses a four-lens Petzval optical design, which reduces chromatic aberration by more than 30% and provides a wider flat field of view than a traditional two-lens achromat with the same relative aperture, meaning that the image will be richer and more detailed across the entire field of view.
The absence of a central screen in the telescope will positively affect the image contrast when observing the Moon and details of planetary disks. Due to its relatively large aperture and short focal length, this telescope is also suitable for observing faint deep-sky objects – nebulae, galaxies, star clusters, and comets. The wide field of view allows you to see almost the entire large Andromeda galaxy with its two satellites and the star scatter of the Milky Way cluster. The shortened telescope tube is convenient for transport – for example, when traveling to the countryside under a dark sky, where faint distant objects can be seen in much more detail compared to the city sky.
A mirror camera can be connected to the telescope's metal 2-inch focusing block via the included T-adapter for direct photography of the Moon's surface, planetary disks, and deep space objects. The camera can also be attached to a clamp that secures the tube to the mount, designed for star fields, the Milky Way, and bright nebulae. The finder comes with a 2-inch diagonal mirror and a wide-angle eyepiece with an initial field of view of 70°. Using the included adapter with the telescope, you can also use any standard 1.25-inch eyepiece.
The Bresser Messier AR-127S optical tube has a German equatorial mount EXOS 1 and a stable steel tripod. The tripod is further reinforced by a metal accessory tray with holes for 1.25" and 2" eyepieces. The height of the tripod is adjustable, allowing the telescope to be adapted to the observer's height. The EXOS 1 mount is designed with beginners in mind, has a clear design and control system, and can carry a tube weighing up to 7 kg. Fine motion controls on both axes are equipped with flexible, comfortable handles, allowing for easy operation of the telescope in any observer position. The mount can be supplemented with a separately purchased electric drive for the right ascension axis and a polar finder, allowing for tracking the daily motion of celestial objects without the observer's involvement during visual observations or photography.
The telescope is equipped with a finder that is attached to the tube with a metal bracket, maintaining the alignment of the finder and telescope throughout the entire observation session. The finder crosshair has a red LED backlight for better visibility in dark skies.
A colorful moving stars chart is also included for exploring the sky and preparing for observations. For the same purpose, but in much more detail and depth, there is a planetarium program for personal computers that displays the night sky with all constellations, planets, and nebulae for the user-selected observation time and location.
