All about the product
Prima Filaments produces PEI Ultem (polyetherimide), a reusable, relatively low-maintenance working surface that ensures better adhesion and less warping. Use it with ABS (with a heated bed) and PLA (hot or cold). It can also be used with other materials such as metal, wood, PETG, ABS+, and many others. You do not need any additional adhesives. PEI is attractive because there are no surface preparation conditions, making it convenient to work with. Additionally, 3D printing on PEI does not require any supports, as parts adhere directly to the surface without issues.
PEI can be easily cut to size with a hobby knife. After laminating the PEI sheet onto glass, simply re-level the 3D printing platform and start printing immediately. Parts should separate from the surface with almost no problems.
PLA does not require heat, but heating to 45 °C helps. Once you finish 3D printing, simply allow the plate to cool down. Then you can carefully remove the model from the plate.
Before each 3D print, clean the PEI surface with 70-91% isopropyl alcohol. This will ensure that you remove any grease or other residues that may have accumulated on the surface. This will help increase your surface adhesion.
