Overview
The HPE StoreEver Rack-mount Kit provides a high-density, rack-mounted tape and removable disk backup solution for both directly attached USB and SAS backup and archiving applications, or a combination of LTO tapes and RDX docks in the same 1U rack unit. The 1U HPE StoreEver Rack-mount Kit, supplied in a generic format supporting both SAS and USB interfaces, accommodates up to two half-height internal tape drives with a maximum capacity of 90 TB (compressed), using two HPE StoreEver LTO-9 Ultrium 45000 tapes. The 1U chassis also supports up to two internal HPE RDX docks, with a maximum capacity of 8 TB per backup session, using two HPE RDX 4 TB USB removable hard drives.

The HPE StoreEver Rack-mount Kit is ideal for customers with limited space in their rack, as it takes up less space, leaving valuable room in the data center for other essential components. The 1U HPE StoreEver Rack-mount Kit allows users to combine various technologies, including LTO Ultrium and RDX removable disk technology, by selecting the appropriate cable layout. The chassis supports standard internal LTO tape drives and the HPE RDX Removable Disk Backup System, allowing for disk upgrades when additional capacity is needed or when transitioning to next-generation LTO tape drives or RDX removable disk technology. The data sheet, 2 pages, provides up to 90 TB capacity (assuming compression is 2.5:1), using two LTO-9 Ultrium 45000 tapes, or up to 8 TB capacity, using two RDX 4 TB removable hard drives. Data transfer speeds of up to 300 MB/s using LTO-7, LTO-8, or LTO-9 Ultrium tapes or up to 30 MB/s using two RDX removable hard drives.
