The CAN FD Expansion HAT is a cover manufactured by "Waveshare" that extends the CAN bus. It supports the original CAN 2.0 protocol and the CAN FD extension with higher data throughput. With numerous built-in protection circuits, including 500 W overvoltage protection, ESD protection, short-circuit protection, and electrical isolation, the connection is certainly safer and more reliable. The CAN FD Expansion HAT has two integrated systems: MCP2518FD – CAN controller and MCP2562FD – bus transceiver.
