Real-time clock (RTC) module, made by Adafruit and featuring a PCF8523 chip. It is also a calendar optimized for low power consumption. Data is transmitted serially over the I2C bus, with a maximum data transfer rate of up to 1000 kbit/s. The RTC PCF8523 real-time clock module also includes a battery socket. Thanks to the battery, power is maintained even when the main device power is interrupted.
