How does sand filtration work?

The principle of the ProStar 6 sand filtration is inspired by nature – here, rainwater turns into crystal-clear spring water thanks to the filtering permeable rock layers. During sand filtration, water passes through silica sand, which traps even fine impurities, and only clean, filtered water returns to the pool. Therefore, it is important to rinse the filtering sand frequently to prevent dirt from settling in the sand. We recommend rinsing the filter at least once a week.

Composition and description of sand filtration

The ProStar 6 sand filtration system consists of a filtration tank that holds 16-17 kg of filtering sand. The tank is made of high-quality polypropylene (PP). It is seamless, resistant to corrosion and common pool chemicals.

The filter has a discharge valve, a manometer, built-in components of the filter container, including an easily operated 6-way valve (which is integrated into the lid of the filter tank), a pump motor with an input power of 450 W, and a plastic base for assembly at the installation site. The system is made of high-quality materials, strictly adhering to technical standards, and undergoes final inspection.

Note

• Standard sand filtration is supplied without filtering sand and hoses. If you do not have these products, we recommend purchasing them together with the sand filtration.
• The ProStar 6 filtration can also be used in saltwater and can be connected to a saltwater chlorinator.

If you use a reduced electricity tariff (i.e., night current), you can turn on the filter when this tariff is active. You can purchase a timer socket for filtration at hobby shops or online, which turns off and on the filtration at a set time. You can significantly reduce operating costs.
