Due to its resistance to UV rays, high temperatures and humidity, ASA plastic is an excellent choice for all 3D prints that will be exposed to weather conditions. High mechanical and thermal resistance (up to 94 ° C) and ease of printing make this material an excellent replacement for ABS, ensuring its popularity in the automotive industry and the production of everyday objects.

ASA (Acrylonitrile-Styrene-Acrylate) unlike ABS, does not require a heated chamber for 3D printing. Lower shrinkage and good adhesion prevent the model from curling and cracking and ensure high dimensional stability of the print.

The finished ASA print can be smoothed with acetone. The material is suitable for sanding and painting. It can also be glued with acetone.

How to print?

These settings are only suggested printing settings for this material. To ensure the best print quality, it is necessary to select the appropriate settings for your specific printer and printing conditions.

  • Printing temperature 255-270 ° C
  • Table temperature 90-110 ° C
  • Closed chamber - not required, but it is recommended to protect the model from wind or drafts
  • Fan 0-25 percent.
  • Flow 90-100 percent.
  • Printing speed <100 mm/s
  • Retraction (direct) yes, 1-2 mm
  • Retraction (tilted) yes, 4-6 mm
  • Retraction speed 20-45 mm/s
