PrimaSELECT Polyetherimide (PEI) Ultem 1010 is an amorphous, amber-colored, and transparent thermoplastic with a glass transition temperature (Tg) of 217°C. The 3D printing material is operational at temperatures up to 170°C. This fire-resistant plastic has UL94 V0 and 5VA ratings.PrimaCreator PEI plastic has unique properties, as it does not come into contact with water during the manufacturing process and is directly vacuum-packed. Due to these properties, PrimaCreator PEI plastic is particularly suitable for use in FDM and FFF 3D printers. The material has excellent adhesion between layers, which greatly improves impact resistance, strength, durability and the printing process.
The printer must be capable of handling PEI plastic and must print with a nozzle temperature of 350-380 °C. The heatbed should be set to 120-160 °C, and it is important to have a heated chamber. It is also very important to make sure that the printer is in a room with almost no drafts and temperature fluctuations. PEEK is best printed on PEI sheet at a print speed of 15-30 mm/s.
