All about the product
A great way to protect plastic spools is to seal them in a vacuum bag. The bags keep dirt, dust and, most importantly, moisture from getting on the plastic. Tightly sealed and dry plastics are the best way to protect the plastic and preserve its properties. This is especially true for hygroscopic plastics such as nylon (PA) and PVA.
By properly storing your plastics in a sealed and dry environment, you will extend their shelf life and ensure that the quality of your prints is always at its best.
The storage kit is very easy to use. Place the coil in a vacuum bag, add a silica gel bag and a humidity indicator, seal the bag and pump out the air. Hold the air valve against a flat surface so that the pump can help maintain the seal. The valve is self-closing for ease of use.
Make sure the moisture indicator is positioned so that you can monitor it. As long as the indicator dots remain brown, your plastic is safe and dry. If the indicator starts to turn blue, there may be moisture in the bag and you should repack the coil with a new silica gel bag.
Vacuum bags are resealable and can be reused.
