All about the product
Prima Filaments’ PEI Ultem (polyetherimide) is a reusable, relatively low-maintenance build surface that provides better adhesion and less warping. Use it with ABS (with heated bed) and PLA (hot or cold). You can also use it with other materials such as metal, wood, PETG, ABS+ and many others. You don’t need any additional adhesives. PEI is attractive because it doesn’t require any surface preparation, making it easy to work with. Additionally, 3D printing on PEI doesn’t require any supports, as parts stick directly to the surface without any problems.
PEI is easily cut to size with a hobby knife. After laminating the PEI sheet to the glass, simply re-level the 3D printing platform and build immediately. The parts should release from the surface with almost no problem.
PLA does not require heat, but heating to 45°C helps. Once you are done 3D printing, simply let the plate cool down. Then you can carefully remove the model from the plate.
Before each 3D print, clean the PEI surface with 70-91% isopropyl alcohol. This will ensure that you remove any grease or other residue that may have accumulated on the surface. This will help increase the adhesion of your surface.
