Upgrade your E3D V6 hotend with the E3D Silicone Cap. This convenient pack of V6 caps will keep your 3D printer running smoother for longer. The silicone caps offer small but significant improvements to make 3D printing with the E3D HotEnd even easier, cleaner, and faster. They fit snugly against the heating block and last longer than ever before.
Made from a heat-resistant, non-stick silicone material, our caps will repel molten plastic build-up. This is especially helpful when using sticky materials like co-polyesters and filled materials that tend to build up on the tips.
They also greatly increase temperature stability, especially if you use high-flow cooling around the nozzle to cool the print. The additional cooling combined with less heat radiation from the block and nozzle to the print really increases the ability to print large protrusions and bridges while maintaining extremely stable HotEnd temperatures.
The caps simply slide onto the front of the HotEnd, no disassembly is required - they fit snugly when first placed on a cold printer. The silicone will expand to the correct size when heated to provide a snug fit on the HotEnd. The V6 caps come in a pack of 3 as they are not meant to last forever. Depending on what materials you print and how much you use them, the silicone will wear out over time. Even with sticky abrasives and a bit of abuse, they should easily last over 100 hours of printing. Using less sticky materials like ABS and softer ones can achieve an almost infinite lifespan.
