A fully professional CPU charger with power bank function with three-stage TC/CC/CV charging process hidden in a small case. Charges 3.6 / 3.7 V lithium-ion cells of any capacity, size 18650 / 20700 / 21700 / 26650. Smart built-in balancer controls the charging and discharging process. Thanks to it, the service life of the cells is significantly extended. The charger always starts charging the more discharged cell. When it reaches a similar charge level, it starts charging both batteries simultaneously. The same goes for unloading. The charger starts discharging from the more charged cell, when the charge levels are the same, it starts discharging both batteries at the same time (power bank function).
What is the TC/CC/CV charging method? It is a three-stage charging process for lithium-ion cells, which ensures that the cell is in good condition by charging at the correct current at each stage and completing the charging process at the correct time.
The separate steps in the TC/CC/CV process are as follows:
- TC phase: Cells discharged below 2.9V are "wake up" at a lower current.
- CC phase: when 2.9V is reached, the cell is charged with a constant current of 2x2A / 2x1A / 1x2A.
- CV phase: when the cell is almost fully charged, the charger switches to charging with a decreasing current until it reaches 4.2 V in the cell. After reaching 4.2V, the charging process is finished - the battery is fully charged.
Batteries with a voltage of 4.1 V or higher are treated by the charger as charged. To fully charge such a battery, place it in the charger before connecting it to a power source. Charged batteries left in the charger discharge naturally. Charging will continue when the battery voltage drops below 4.1V.
The Xtar PB2S charger has the function to reactivate deeply discharged cells and cells with a voltage of 0 V. Many chargers on the market cannot charge such batteries. This is where the Xtar PB2S charger comes in handy, which in most cases allows you to "rescue" such items. Simply insert a deeply discharged battery into the PB2S charger as you would with a normal charge and the charger will detect the dead cell and attempt to reactivate it.
Attention! Cells released below a certain level are irreparably damaged and cannot be activated. Discharging lithium-ion batteries too deeply should be avoided, as this can lead to a significant reduction in durability and capacity, or even a complete loss.
Chargers from other manufacturers can significantly increase the temperature of the charged cells during charging. Excessive heating of the cells can lead to faster wear. In developing the PB2S charger, Xtar went a step further than the competition by solving this problem simply: using an external power supply. Because of this, the temperature of the PB2S rechargeable battery will increase by a maximum of 15 degrees.
The Xtar PB2S charger comes with a USB TYPE C cable. Power adapter not included. Any charger with a USB socket, such as a phone or computer with a free USB port, is sufficient to power the charger. A charger that supports QC3.0 / PD3.0 is recommended to take full advantage of the charger. A lower power charger can be used, but in this case the charging time will be longer.
