The ALPHA PERO series is made from one piece of steel, a special chromium-vanadium-molybdenum alloy. Each knife is forged by hand and goes through over forty separate manufacturing processes before it is finished. The handle is made of fine-grained and velvety pear wood. The knives are made of stainless steel and are not dishwasher safe. Pears are deciduous trees native to North Africa, Europe and Western Asia, beyond Persia and the Himalayas to Japan. Pear wood is hard, heavy and durable. It does not break and is very stable. The stability is related to the so-called wood cells, which make it very dense and delicate.
