How this product works
All 8 ports of the TL-SG1008MP support Power over Ethernet (IEEE 802.3af/at, PoE+) standard which can automatically detect and deliver power to any IEEE 802.3af/at compatible device(s). Electrical power is transmitted along with data over a single cable, enabling you to extend your network to locations where there is no power outlet and to power devices such as wireless access points, cameras, and phones.

Priority power source
Priority (1 port > 2 port > 3 port > 4 port > 5 port > 6 port > 7 port > 8 port): This feature protects the system in case of power overload. For example, if ports 1, 2, 4, and 7 are using 30 W (the maximum power per port is 30 W, total system power is 120 W), and an additional device consuming 25 W is connected to port 3, the system will turn off the power to port 7 to protect the switch from overload. This means that ports 1, 2, and 4 will use 30 W, port 3 will use 25 W, and port 7 will not receive power as it has the lowest priority among the used ports.
