SHELLY Presence Gen4 Motion Sensor (Black)

The Shelly Presence Gen4 is a motion sensor that uses mmWave radar to detect the actual presence of people, even when they are completely still. The device can track up to 6 people simultaneously, supports up to 10 configurable detection zones, and monitors an area of up to 42 m², ensuring exceptionally accurate home automation. Wi-Fi 6 connectivity, Zigbee 3.0, Bluetooth 5 LE, and Matter certifications allow for easy integration with modern smart home systems, while the compact design (64 × 41 × 26 mm without the base) enables discreet installation of the sensor in almost any room.

Detecting Actual Presence, Not Just Motion

Traditional motion sensors often stop detecting users when they are sitting at a table, reading a book, or watching TV. Shelly Presence Gen4 solves this problem by using a radar operating in the 60–64 GHz frequency band, which detects even the presence of completely motionless individuals. As a result, lighting, air conditioning, and other automated systems remain active as long as someone is in the room, thereby ensuring greater comfort and preventing unnecessary device shutdowns.

Smart Automation for Multiple Zones and Users

The device can simultaneously identify and track up to 6 people, allowing for significantly more advanced automation scenarios. Support for up to 10 independent detection zones allows different actions to be assigned to specific areas of a room. In large living areas, offices, or open spaces, lighting can be turned on only where users are present, enhancing comfort and helping to reduce unnecessary energy consumption. Additionally, the device displays detected individuals on a room map, allowing you to monitor their location in real time and facilitating easier configuration of zones and automation tailored to the room's layout.

Fewer False Detections and Increased Accuracy

The Shelly Presence Gen4 sensor allows you to adjust detection sensitivity and transmission power to tailor its performance to a specific room. It offers floor-level motion filtering and the ability to ignore small objects like pets or robotic vacuum cleaners. This prevents accidental triggering of automated systems and ensures that the system primarily responds to human presence.

Integrated Light Sensor

In addition to presence detection, the device also monitors ambient light levels and recognizes three states: dark, dimmed, and bright. Therefore, automation can consider not only user presence but also existing lighting conditions. This enables more natural scenarios, such as turning on gentle lighting at dusk or full brightness when it gets dark.

Shelly Presence Gen4 supports Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5 LE, Zigbee 3.0, and Matter over Wi-Fi, making it easy to integrate into your chosen smart home ecosystem. It works with Shelly Cloud, Home Assistant, and other popular automation platforms. It also supports Amazon Alexa, Google Smart Home, and Samsung SmartThings, while the integrated web interface allows direct configuration, monitoring, and modification of device settings from a web browser without the need for additional apps. When integrated with Matter-compatible systems, one room zone is used by default. However, the sensor supports up to 10 zones, and each additional zone added in the Matter system is presented as a separate component, allowing you to create more complex automations.

Discreet Installation Suitable for Any Interior

Due to its compact size of just 64 × 41 × 26 mm (without the base), the sensor easily blends into any room's decor. With a stable base, it can be placed on a shelf, table, or cabinet, or mounted on the wall using double-sided adhesive tape or included screws. The device also supports 180° inverted mounting, allowing its performance to be better adapted to the room layout. The recommended installation height is 2 m, with a maximum room height of 5 m.
