PRODUCTION PROCESS
Making a wax model. The craftsman creates a wax model of the eraser based on the sketch. Here are some fun stories about finding inspiration in this stage of eraser creation:
- While creating the parfait eraser, one IWAKO craftsman tasted different parfaits to better express the texture of the dessert and gained a lot of weight!
- Once a policeman caught an IWAKO master photographing a police car for his eraser model.
Mold production. Molds are created for each part of the eraser. For example, to make a pizza-shaped grater, molds are prepared separately for layers of dough, tomato sauce, cheese and paprika. Each mold is tested and perfected before mass production.
Color mixing. Special attention is paid to colors, because the impression that the products will leave depends on them. IWAKO strives to make erasers as realistic as possible, so choosing and matching colors is a long, painstaking process of testing.
Casting. The secret of IWAKO is the mixing of raw materials. The materials for casting IWAKO erasers are mixed according to a secret formula to best express the features and surface characteristics of the depicted object or character.
Assembly of parts. The finished eraser is assembled by hand from individual parts.
Quality control and packaging. Each eraser is carefully checked before it is packed - a strict quality control system ensures that IWAKO products are safe and bring joy to children all over the world.
