Teltonika SWM280 is a managed 24-port switch for corporate networks, CCTV and industrial installations where simultaneous data transmission and device power supply matter. It offers 12 PoE+ ports, 4 SFP slots and L2 functions with L3 extensions, making it easier to build a stable infrastructure without adding extra power supplies.

The switch operates with a throughput of 56 Gb/s and a forwarding performance of 83.33 Mpps, so it maintains smooth traffic even under heavier network load. A 512 KB buffer and an 8K MAC table support stable operation with a large number of devices and sudden traffic spikes, which is important in surveillance systems and edge networks.

SWM280 supports VLAN, LACP, STP/RSTP, port isolation and mirroring, making it easier to separate user, camera and critical device traffic. QoS functions with 802.1p and DSCP prioritisation give precedence to voice, video and M2M communication, while bandwidth control limits link congestion.

The switch supports PROFINET, MRP and EtherNet/IP, so it works well in mixed industrial environments and automation installations. Extended L3 functions, including static IPv4 and IPv6 routing, provide greater control over traffic between network segments without the need to add separate routing devices.

The TSWOS system based on OpenWrt provides browser-based management, SNMP v2/v3, LLDP and the remote RMS platform with a 2-year package included. Protection mechanisms are also available, such as 802.1X, MAC filtering, integration with RADIUS and TACACS+, and blocking of unwanted login attempts.

The anodised aluminium housing and 483 x 44 x 234 mm dimensions make installation in a standard rack cabinet easy. An operating range of 0°C to 50°C, IP30 protection and 100–240 VAC power supply make the device suitable for continuous operation in indoor environments where predictable performance and simple integration are important.

The device has 24 Gigabit RJ45 ports, 4 SFP slots, a 300 W PoE budget and power consumption of up to 325 W at full load. The package includes the switch, a quick start guide and packaging, and the manufacturer notes that the power cable is not included, which is worth bearing in mind before installation.
