Whether camping, sailing, hiking, or swimming by the nearest lake – anyone who loves to be outdoors for a long time doesn't want to be without a smartphone, tablet, power bank, etc. However, one question quickly arises: where to find the nearest power outlet? After all, every battery runs out, and our practical daily helpers cannot do without electricity. By using the extremely compact BRESSER solar charger, you simply use solar energy to charge your devices. Environmentally friendly solar energy is free – and you will remain independent of the power grid!


Just open, place, and instantly create green solar energy

The operation is very simple: unfold the solar panel and align it as perpendicular to the sun as possible. Then connect the device to be charged to the solar charger using a suitable USB cable (not included) or the included DC connection cable. The charging process starts immediately.


Which devices can be charged with the solar panel?

The solar charger instantly powers all devices with a USB power connection or the mentioned DC power plug connection – e.g., smartphones, tablets, power banks, portable playing stations, MP4 players, GPS devices, and Bluetooth headphones. For larger electrical devices, we recommend more powerful BRESSER solar panels with an output power of at least 60 watts – see no. 3810050, 3810060, 3810070.


Universal charger with flexible connection options

There is one USB-A socket for powering devices. There is also an additional universal connection socket for 5.5/2.1 mm DC plug connectors. The package includes a universal connecting cable with a 5.5/2.1 mm DC plug on both sides and a length of 2 meters, as well as 3 plug adapters (3.5/1.35 mm, 5.5/2.5 mm, 8.0/5.5/0.8 mm). The polarity of the connections is as follows: inner contact = positive (+), outer contact = negative (-).


How long does it take to charge a battery?

Most modern devices with built-in batteries display the current battery charging status on the screen or status LEDs. The charging process is also automatically stopped by the internal charger of the smartphone or tablet, etc., as soon as the battery is full.


Nevertheless, it is useful to know how long a full charge theoretically takes when the battery is empty. This is the only way to choose the right solar panel model that meets the requirements of the devices you want to charge.


Here’s a quick calculation: divide the battery capacity (mAh) by the charging current of the charger (mA) and multiply it by the coefficient 75. You will then get an approximate charging time in minutes needed to fully charge the battery operating at 100% in the sun.

Example: a battery with a capacity of 3000 mAh (3.0 Ah) and a charging current of 2400 mA (2.4 amps) via a 5-volt USB connection. So 3000 : 2400 x 75 = 94 minutes. Dividing the result by 60 gives the charging time in hours: 1.6 hours.

This means that an average smartphone can be fully charged in just 1.6 hours with a 21-watt solar panel.


Included carabiner hook for attachment

To securely attach the solar collector to an object and align it perfectly with the sun, the package includes 4 sturdy hooks. Simply attach them to the grommeted eyelets of the solar panel and hang the solar charger securely, e.g., on a tent loop, fence, or other suitable storage locations. If you attach it to your backpack, you can use the time during your hike for charging.

Durable, dust and water-resistant materials

The durable Cordura fabric is particularly tear-resistant yet flexible. It protects the valuable solar panel from damage and ensures the necessary stability during use. The solar panel is dust and water-resistant, withstands most weather conditions, and is the ideal companion for almost any outdoor activity. However, the solar panel should not be exposed to direct rain or high humidity.


IMPORTANT NOTES

The solar panel does not have a built-in charger or charging controller. Therefore, it is not suitable for directly charging loose battery cells or lead batteries. It is only suitable for smartphones, tablets, and, for example, power banks, as they always have built-in internal chargers.

The solar collector does not have its own battery but is exclusively used as a power source for charging electronic devices in the sun.

When connecting charging devices via the DC plug connector, always ensure the required voltage and correct polarity. Otherwise, the electronics of the solar collector and the charging devices may be damaged.

Do not leave solar panels outside overnight where there is high humidity or rain. This can damage the internal electronics.
