Born in 1927 talented designer Hubert James Taffin de Givenchy in 1952. founded his own fashion house. In the same year, he presented the first collection that left an indelible mark in the history of fashion: clothes based on his "distinctive" concept - elegant blouses and bright skirts, mixing strict lines and simplicity - were a huge success, given the restrained everyday look of those times. Givenchy studied in Paris with other world famous designers: Elsa Schiaparelli, Robert Piguet, Lucien Lelong, Jacques Fath. But in 1993, shortly after the collection was first put together, Givenchy was taken under the wing of another brand giant, Cristóbal Balenciaga. The creator's design lines became cleaner and purer - and women fell in love with him. Givenchy's true gift was to fuse French heritage with American glamour. He was a man who understood women - and it's no wonder that movie stars and other elite figures loved him. A connoisseur of elegance, art and stylish life, Givenchy believed that "the task of clothing is to make a woman more beautiful".
Since 1957 Givenchy began to create perfumes, which he called "the final touch" in dressing a woman. in 1958 - at a time when perfumes did not have their own "faces", he created a revolution by asking his friend Audrey Hepburn to be the star of the L'Interdit advertising campaign: the first time a movie star appeared in a perfume advertisement.
Today, every perfume fan can find something in the Givenchy perfume portfolio. With extremely different designs and even more different flavors, the perfumes are characterized by French elegance, American exuberance and a love of style and beauty inspired by the whole world. Like the Givenchy Beauty fashion house, the brand's perfumes have always embodied unique sensory and emotional qualities, promoting a lifestyle that combines elegance with fantasy. It is a brand that always celebrates a woman's charm, personality and encourages us to have a little more "joy" in our lives. And can perfume achieve this? Oh yes.
