Design and use

The sander has a minimalist design, is compact and made of plastic that does not collect fingerprints. This is an on-demand grinder - the coffee is ground right before brewing directly into the container. The grinder has two bowls, a larger one for pouring and a smaller espresso dispensing cup with a diameter that fits most portafilters (diameter 54mm and an additional adapter to increase the diameter to 58mm). Grinding is started with a pulse button, which allows you to fully control the amount of ground coffee. Also, the Encore ESP has an on/off switch.


Grinding adjustment

Encore ESP offers 40 grnd settings, from very fine to coarse. A range of 1 to 20 is suitable for mocha pot and espresso, while settings 21 to 40 are suitable for brewing methods such as Chemex, AeroPress, drip, siphon or French press. Regardless of the grind setting, the grinder has little retention – only a minimal amount of ground coffee remains in the grinder.


Burrs

Made in Europe, the Encore ESP 40mm Tapered M2 Steel Grinders deliver the consistent and precise grind required for espresso and all brewing methods. The Encore ESP cone core is easily removed without additional tools, making cleaning and maintenance very easy.


Engine

A powerful, high-torque DC motor drives dents effortlessly. This motor rotates slowly, so it runs cooler, quieter and allows for long grinding duty cycles. The circuit includes an auto-resetting thermal cut-out switch. Using unique speed control, the Encore ESP uses a combination of gears and electronic speed reduction to control spindle rotation up to 550 rpm. This slow speed reduces heat, noise and static build-up in the grinder. This also ensures that the beans go smoothly into the spikes.
