The Cycladic civilization is the oldest in Europe and flourished in the Aegean Sea in the 3rd millennium BC. Their marble art was a highly stylized depiction of the human form with minimal geometric lines, which makes it very similar to modern art. The Bishop's figure has guiding lines with his arms under his chest and his legs together. The Horse is a Trojan War Horse found in the bas-relief decoration of a vase on the island of Mykonos. The Castle is a replica of the entrance to a massive 2,500-year-old marble temple, which is still a landmark on the island of Naxos. Finally, the Footman is the head of the most famous marble statue from this period.
