Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 300mm f/4E PF ED VR

Cut the distance with this FX-format 300mm focal length lens. The first F-mount NIKKOR lens to incorporate a phase-view Fresnel lens, it is a compact telephoto lens with excellent image quality.

If you intend to photograph sports events, wildlife, capture travel experiences or create bright and precise portraits, don't hesitate to choose this lens, because it will fill your frame, not your bag.

The combination of the largest f/4 aperture, 300mm focal length and extremely efficient VR technology guarantees a perfect result in the widest possible range of conditions. Integrating a phase-view Fresnel lens has resulted in a lens that is much smaller and lighter, and it also stays intact for longer as water, dust and dirt don't build up on the fluorine coating.

  • A particularly effective telephoto lens : the focal length is 300 mm, and the maximum aperture is f/4. (Focal length is 450mm when used with Nikon DX-format SLR cameras.)
  • Phase-view Fresnel lens : impressive optical properties of a telephoto lens and an extremely compact design. With the integration of a phase-view Fresnel (PF) lens, the lens is much lighter and the resulting image is just as flawless.
  • Vibration reduction (VR) : in SPORT mode. The VR function reduces the effects of camera shake and allows you to shoot with a 4.5-stop slower shutter speed.¹ When the VR mode is set to SPORT, the viewfinder displays a stable display no matter how fast the subjects are moving, and the frame rate for continuous shooting with reduced shutter release lag is almost the same , as with turning off VR.
  • Better optics : Nanometer crystal coating effectively reduces image ghosting and flare, resulting in sharper and more contrasted images. ED (Extra Low Dispersion) glass element reduces chromatic aberration.
  • Electromagnetic Aperture : Exposure is consistent and more accurate, especially when shooting at high frame rates.
  • Fluorine coating : virtually no water marks, dust and dirt build-up, so image quality remains flawless. The coating gives the lens resistance and allows for convenient cleaning of the glass without damaging the surface.
  • Minimum focusing distance : 1.4 m.
  • Tripod Ring RT-1 (sold separately) : Allows you to rotate the lens freely to smoothly switch between vertical and horizontal positions.
