The battery power system must be such that the detector is installed in an optimal place in the room and is protected even in the event of a power failure. Exceeding the permissible CO LEVEL shall be visually (red LED) and audible (loud, pulsating beep at 85 dB). The device stores information that a concentration of CO greater than 100 PPM is detected. In this way, the user can be sure that no carbon monoxide was emitted during his absence from the room. The sensor shall have a test and/or reset button to test the operation of the device and reset the alarm. The quality control system constantly monitors the condition of sensors, internal circuits and batteries, among other things. If the battery is malfunctioning or low, the yellow LEDs should light up and the warning sound will sound. In addition, the sensor is equipped with a feature that allows you to quickly check that the sensor is responding properly to CO TEST gas. Thanks to the special housing, the sensor can be placed not only on the wall, but also on a flat surface, e.g. on the nightstand next to the bed. After 10 years of switching on the power supply, the sensor will remember to replace the device. K5CO is marked with the construction mark B, confirming that household carbon monoxide detectors comply with the Polish standard PN-EN 50291-1:2018+AC 2021.
