It may not look like it, but don't be fooled - NeoLoft is a camping mat, despite its appearance. Every element of NeoLoft is connected from the inside out to provide excellent comfort while remaining incredibly light and easy to pack. The 3D construction brings the mat up to 11.7 cm thick, making NeoLoft a dream for side sleepers. Vertical side walls secure the top and bottom fabric and eliminate the tapered edges common to non-3D pads. This increases the sleeping surface by 20% and provides excellent stability - you'll never feel like you're falling off the mat.

The outer surface of NeoLoft is made of plush stretch knit. NeoLoft is the first inflatable mat to be made of this type of material. Stretch knit is a garment-like fabric that has multi-directional stretch and is NOW softer to the touch than the nylon typically used in backpacking mats. Its stretch properties enhance NeoLoft’s contoured support and help reduce pressure points by contouring to your body shape in places. The inner surface is filled with ContourCore Matrix™, the epicenter of NeoLoft’s off-road capabilities. It effectively insulates by reducing convective heat loss with two rows of stacked triangular chambers, while ThermaCapture™ reflects body heat back to you, giving it an R-value of 4.7 all season long. Large chambers are built along the sides that, when inflated, rise to form side ridges. They give your body a sense of solidity, so you can feel the edges of the mat, and they hold you in the middle to prevent you from falling over while you sleep.

Therm-a-rest has equipped the NeoLoft sleeping pad with a high-volume TwinLock™ valve system. The twin-valve system quickly inflates the NeoLoft pad with a special “In” valve with one-way air flow and quickly deflates it with a special “Out” valve. Combined with a high-volume, airtight inflation bag, the NeoLoft is quick and efficient to inflate and unpack.
