Extender switch PoE DIN-FE4-AT-30W Lanberg
PoE extender (often referred to as a PoE repeater or "amplifier") is a practical component in installations where we need to run devices far from the telecommunications cabinet, and the classic 100 m limitation on Ethernet and PoE power becomes a barrier. Such a PoE switch acts as an active splitter: it regenerates the signal and transmits PoE power further, allowing you to safely "extend" power and transmission to subsequent points in the LAN without an additional power supply in the field and without having to deal with intermediate power sockets.
Key features of DIN-FE4-AT-30W that really help installers and LAN administrators
Extend the range of PoE power and network signal in your LAN by 100 m
This is the most common scenario: surveillance cameras, access controllers, alarm components, Wi-Fi/access points, and other PoE-powered network devices are "too far" from the main network switch in the rack. Instead of installing a 230 V power supply along the way, you insert a PoE extender into the path.
The DIN-FE4-AT-30W works in a simple, practical way: it receives data and PoE power at the PoE input, and then provides a fresh Ethernet signal and PoE at the outputs - meaning you can effectively extend the range of your installation by another 100 m. This is a great solution when you need to run several PoE receivers, e.g., several cameras in a hall, parking lot, or long corridor, and the power supply and transmission are to go through a single UTP cable.
4-port PoE extender switch with cascading capability
In practice, you gain the most when the extender works not only as a single module, but also in a serial arrangement. Both models can operate as an extender in a single configuration and in a cascaded connection.
How does this work in the field?
At each stage, apart from the next extender, there is room for an additional network branch: you can connect 2 cameras or other peripherals (e.g., an IP sensor, a small AP) - that is, exactly when you have points "along the way" that you want to power with PoE. This is convenient when you are expanding your LAN in stages and want your infrastructure to be flexible and easy to maintain.
Advanced PoE extender ready for any task
The DIN-FE4-AT-30W is a compact Layer 2 switch that makes life easier in PoE installations thanks to proven transmission mechanisms:
The DIN-FE4-AT-30W version supports IEEE 802.3i (10Base-T) and IEEE 802.3u (100Base-TX) wired standards and PoE+ compliant with 802.3af and 802.3at. This is an important distinction, because in installations you will also encounter passive PoE solutions here we are talking about standard, negotiated PoE. At the same time, the device has passive cooling (no fan) and very low power consumption approx. 1.6 W, so it is suitable for continuous operation.
Robust, durable housing and convenient mounting on a TS-35 DIN rail with a metal clip
In industrial and technical installations, it is not only the PoE function that counts, but also the installation. That is why the housing and metal clip for the TS-35 DIN rail are more than just a detail: they save time and keep the switchboard tidy.
Advantages of DIN rail mounting for the installer/administrator:
If your LAN infrastructure has areas where the network needs to be extended beyond the standard 100 m, and you also have PoE-powered devices (e.g., IP cameras and other devices, access points, etc.), the DIN-FE4-AT-30W is designed as an extender for such tasks. Choose the model according to your power requirements: PoE+ for typical peripherals or PoE++ where you need a larger PoE budget and gigabit transmission.
