Viss par produktu
LAY-FOMM 60 is an exciting new product from the creators of LAYBRICK and LAYWOO-D3. We are proud to present the latest experimental plastic from inventor Kai Parthy. LAY-FOMM 60 is best described as foamy and highly porous. This material is made from a rubber-elastomeric polymer and a PVA component. This means that some of this plastic is water-soluble. When you wash this material in water, the PVA component disappears and the rubber polymer remains as a microporous object. LAY-FOMM 60 is ideal for use in soft rubber applications such as flexible suits and sponge-like objects, ink reservoirs, bio-cells, microfoams and elastic materials. LAY-FOMM 60 is available in a 0.25 kg package.Once you are done printing, you will notice that the material is strong and rigid. However, rinse the print with water and your object will become microporous and elastic. This is ideal for printing soft and flexible rubber-like objects. This material is very soft, with a hardness of A60. To make the print fully flexible, leave the printed object in tap water for 1-4 days.
So, what is the difference between LAY-FOMM 60 and LAY-FOMM 40? Good question – LAY-FOMM 60 shore
The hardness is A60 and is slightly stronger than LAY-FOMM 40, which has a hardness of A40. Both materials are very flexible and differ only in shore hardness. These materials are identical except for shore hardness.
We recommend printing LAY-FOMM 60 between 220°C and 230°C. However, keep in mind that every printer is slightly different, so you may need to increase or decrease the temperature by 5°C until your print looks perfect!
LAY-FOMM 60 is part of the new PORO-LAY series, which also includes LAY-FOMM 40 and GEL-LAY. The PORO-LAY series is made by using two different materials, such as an elastomer (a rubber-like material), then mixing that material with a soluble component, such as PVA. So, when the print is washed in water, the PVA component dissolves and the print becomes flexible and porous.
Main features:
- Rinse with water after printing to form a microporous and elastic object
- Optimal for printing soft rubber objects
- Shore hardness A60 (slightly harder than LAY-FOMM 40)
- Print from 220°C to 230°C
- The heated plastic is supplied in a 0.25 kg package.
- POROLAY plastic is intended for experimental use
- All plastics are rigid and unbreakable after printing and can be printed using standard home printers (RepRaps)
- All objects are heat sealed after drying
- Microporous means micrometer dimensions! Pores are invisible to the naked eye
- All POROLAY-objects can be filled with more than just water, try using oil, glycerin, ink emulsions, saline solutions or ionic liquids to make them conductive!
- You can print without a heated platform
- Objects have almost zero deformation (deformation during printing)
- Design rules: print fewer walls/shells and less fill to reduce flushing time
